Lusi was born on Crest 30 to the servants of the Baron and Baroness of Sal Rey. She was raised to serve their daughter, Ariana. When she was 13, a band of anarchists attacked her employers' coach where her mother and Ariana's mother were killed. Afterward, she and Ariana became closer, bonding over the loss of their mothers, and she went on to become Ariana's Lady in Waiting after Ariana became queen.
